The Power of Gratitude

“When gratitude becomes your attitude your life begins to change.” For me the attitude of gratitude is when you’re grateful for your own existence, for being alive, for every breath of life you take. There is nothing in this life that can fill your heart as gratitude.

If you ever thought that you have nothing to be grateful for, in the morning please just check your pulse, take a deep breath, close your eyes and at that moment you will realize that you have so many things to be grateful for. Just waking up in the morning is miracle by itself. Just seeing that all the people you love and care about woke up too is a miracle too. We go throughout the life unconsciously not appreciating things that were given to us by God, by Universe, higher power, higher intelligence, you can call it however you want, but you can’t deny that you’re breathing, that your heart is beating, that your liver is working without your permission and you also have to realize that this can be taken away from you any minute without your permission. So, we have so many things in our life to be grateful for, but we never think about it or our attention is mostly on the things that we do not have.

In order for you to realize the power of gratitude, you need to become grateful. You have to know that you will never move from the spot you’re currently at until you understand that you have to be grateful for what you have. Once you acknowledge this and you open your heart of gratitude then all the abundance of this life will flow into your life.

Gratitude is practiced, just like happiness is choice. By practicing gratitude daily, we become more conscious, more aware and when we really start feeling gratitude with our heart, with every cell of our body then things begin to shift. It takes time. I still write every morning all the blessings in my journal even though after more than a year of doing this I came to the point where I wake up with grateful heart and count my blessings while still in bed.

Once you become grateful things begin to shift on all the levels of our life: physical, psychological and social. We become more conscious,, more compassionate and forgiving. We enjoy life more, we’re more positive, peaceful and we feel happier, Also, our immune system becomes stronger, we start taking better care of our physical body, we sleep better and some say that gratitude can even lower the blood pressure.

So, start practicing gratitude every day by writing your blessings into your journal, appreciating beauty in nature, telling someone you love them, give thanks before meal, be kind, say thank you often and consciously…..THANK YOU FROM MY HEART, TO YOURS!!!
